Blizzard - Marie Vingtras

GBB Review:
Blizzardis a short, multi-voiced novel, a true open-air closed-door drama.
We're off to Alaska, in the middle of a storm. One of those times when staying indoors is a matter of survival. But Bess, the babysitter, goes out... and loses "the little one". The time it takes to tie her shoelaces, and everything changes. From the very first pages, the reader is plunged into the heart of the plot, in a race against time, both meteorological and emotional.
The novel gives a voice to four characters from a remote village, determined to find the lost child at all costs. Each carries their flaws, their secrets, their history. The storm, which prevents seeing a few meters ahead, acts as a revelation: while everything is blurred by the blizzard, truths, however, eventually emerge. A chilling irony.
The rhythm is clearly that of a thriller: constant tension, masterful suspense, no unnecessary breathing room. The very short chapters and effective writing maintain continuous pressure, relentlessly drawing the reader from the first to the last page.
